AGE: 84 • Manchester

James R. Stewart, 84, passed away Monday, October 16, 2017 at his home in Manchester, NJ.

He was born in Holland Twp., NJ on March 25, 1933 to the late Paul and Martha Cyphers Stewart.

His beloved wife of 51 years, Mary Ann Weidner Stewart passed away in 2011.

Living most of his life in Holland Twp., NJ. James worked as a machine operator for the Holland Township Road Dept. for 20 years before his retirement. Prior to that, he drove a school bus for the same township for many years. He served in the US Navy as a Petty Officer 3rd Class from 1952-1956.

James loved being with family and friends and helping out any chance he could. He loved to hunt as a young man, enjoyed bowling, selling/buying at flea markets and watching NASCAR. He was an avid gardener, enjoyed playing bingo and taking bus trips to AC and all over. He loved his dogs and cats.

He was a long time member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Riegelsville, PA. He was a member of Post 1 Cedar Glen West AmVets and served on the Board of Directors for Cedar Glen West.

One sister, Frances Laubach passed away in 2010.

He is survived by nephews John Jiorle and his wife Kip of Harmony Twp., NJ, Stephen Jiorle and his wife Denice of Easton, PA, Anthony Jiorle of Lopatcong Twp., NJ, Kenneth Weidner and Kurt Nase both of Allentown, PA. Also a niece Rose Jiorle Treible of Lopatcong Twp., NJ, sister-in-law Jean Weidner of Allentown, PA and his caring companion Edith Stinemire of Manchester, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Pop Corn Park Zoo, 1 Humane Way, Forked River, NJ 08731.

Friends may call on Thursday, October 19, from 9-11am at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Rd., Manchester, NJ 08759. Interment with Funeral Services to follow including Military Honors will be graveside at 2pm from the Riegelsville Union Cemetery, Riegelsville, PA.
