Jane Connolly Caughey

Wall Township - Jane Connolly Caughey passed away on March 10, 2018 with her devoted family by her side at her home. She is the daughter of the late Dr. & Mrs. John J. Connolly of Newark and Spring Lake.

Jane was predeceased by her husband, Robert M. Caughey; her son, William H. Beattie; her grandson,s Bobby Beattie and Matthew Caughey and her sisters: Jeanne Connolly, Ruth (Nan) Connolly Burrus and Mary Connolly Michaels.

She was a graduate of Lacordaire School, Upper Montclair, and Georgetown Visitation, Washington, D.C. Jane was abundantly kind, loving, and compassionate to us all. She had the unique ability to make everyone feel special. We will miss her tremendously.

Jane cherished her family and is survived by her sons, Robert W. Beattie of Brielle and fiancé, Marysa Van Patten, and Charles T. Beattie of Wall; stepsons, Robert F. Caughey of Charleston, South Carolina and Peter T. Caughey and his wife, Kathleen of Spring Lake Hts.; her brother, John F. Connolly and sister-in-law, Katherine of Spring Lake Hts.; sister, Suzanne Connolly Kinney and brother-in-law, Richard J. Kinney of Spring Lake; brother-in-law, Patrick Hamill and sister-in-law, Patricia Caughey Hamill of Ocala, Florida; brother-in-law, Thomas F. Caughey and Connie Caughey of Annandale; her wonderful grandchildren: Rose M. Beattie of New York, John G. Beattie of Brielle, Bailey Caughey Anglin and her husband, Christopher of Knoxville, Tennessee, Robert P. Caughey and his wife, Carrie of Charleston, South Carolina, Connolly Caughey of Charleston, South Carolina, and Megan Caughey of Spring Lake Hts; and great-grandchildren Kate Anglin, Clare Anglin, Mia Caughey, and Robert D. Caughey; as well as many nephews and her supportive nieces, Jeanne Burrus and Melissa Quinn.

Jane was a parishioner of St. Catharine Church in Spring Lake. She was a member of the Spring Lake Bath and Tennis Club. Jane will always be in our hearts.

A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at St. Catharine Church in Spring Lake at 10:30 am.

The Neary Quinn Funeral Home in Manasquan is in charge of arrangements.
