Janice Lynn Monte Obituary
Janice Lynn Monte

AGE: 73 • Manasquan

Janice Lynn Monte, 73 of Manasquan, NJ passed away peacefully on Friday June 23, 2017 with her loving family by her side. She was born in Springfield, MA and raised in East Longmeadow, MA. Jan had lived in Connecticut, Cape Cod and spent winters in Bonita Springs, FL before moving to Manasquan to be with her children, their spouses and her beloved grandchildren.

Jan and Al were high school sweethearts and have been together for 57 beautiful years. They were true soulmates and this year celebrated 52 wonderful years of marriage. Before having children, she loved being a scrub nurse for an ophthalmologist in Massachusetts. When her daughter and son were born, her life's purpose was redefined as being the most loving, caring and devoted mother to them. After moving to Manasquan, to be near her family, she worked at her son-in-law's medical spa, Bella Derma where she took great pride in her job and helping patients. Whether it be with a patient, friend, husband, brother, children or grandchildren, Jan always made the time to make a positive difference in every moment with any person blessed enough to share her journey. Jan was a woman who would do absolutely anything for anyone. Her smile was infectious, her sense of humor was a refreshing breath of fresh air, her ability to make all feel welcomed and at ease was beyond admirable and her loving, big heart was never so full as when celebrating life's big and little moments with her family. She devoted her entire life to her family and showered them with unconditional love as her family was her EVERYTHING. Her love, guidance and support were unparalleled and unsurpassed. She touched so many lives and was loved deeply by all who knew her. She was a true gift from God. She had a very special relationship with her brother-in-law Tom. Jan loved spending time at the beach, wading in the water and collecting shells. She always tried to find the tiniest shell. She loved cookbooks, shopping and decorating. However, the most important thing to her was her family and the wonderful and loving bond she created with her grandchildren. She left a legacy of love which will always be cherished.

Jan is survived by her beloved husband, Al Monte of Manasquan; her loving children, daughter and son-in-law Kristen and Dr. Christopher Godek of Sea Girt, NJ and son and daughter-in-law Jeffrey and Jennifer Monte of Howell, NJ; four adoring grandchildren Maxwell and Alexander Godek and Emily and Abigail Simons; a brother Stuart Parenteau and his wife Paula of Bradenton, FL; brother-in-law George and his wife Carol Monte of Monson, MA and a very special brother-in-law Thomas Monte of Wall, NJ. Jan was predeceased by her parents Warren and Alice Parenteau and brother William Parenteau.

Family and friends are invited to attend a "Celebration of Life" service on Saturday July 1, 2017 from 11:00 to 2:00 PM at the Orender Family Home for Funerals at 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan, NJ.
