Sister Janie Bland, 77, of Tinton Falls, NJ was born July 29, 1940, in Crawford County, Georgia. She fought a good fight all the way up till the good Lord called her home on November 12, 2017, at Hackensack Meridian Riverview Hospital with her family nearby. She was born to the parents Ben Lyons Sr. and Emma Cook. She went to Crawford and Peach County School district. She attended Coolspring Baptist Church, Crawford County, Ga. She moved to Brooklyn, NY. She eventually moved to Tinton Falls, NJ to start a new life so she'll be able to take care of her parents and siblings. She met her husband Harry Bland and they had 3 beautiful daughters. She went to Brookdale Community College and got her degree as a Registered Nurse. Sister Bland worked two jobs between Hackensack Meridian Riverview Medical Hospital and Marlboro Psychiatric Hospital as a nurse and on some days she worked both jobs. She retired from River View after working there for 33yrs and Marlboro till the day they shut down. Sister Bland, her daughters and 8 grandchildren all attend Mt. Zion A.M.E Zion church of Eatontown, NJ. Sister Janie Bland is a faithful member who has served in many positions throughout her life. Sister Janie Bland sets the best example for all of us as to what a Christian is. She was preceded in death by her Father Ben Lyons Sr. and Mother Emma Cook-Lyons. Husband Harry W. Bland. Two brothers. She leaves behind three lovely daughters; Renee' Bacy, Natasha and Nyree Bland of Tinton Falls, NJ; her eight grandchildren who she loved dearly; Darrah, Devin, Diamond, Destiny and Dai Yona Bacy/Swindle; Nijarrah, Nymel, and Nyjarron Bland/Stanton all of Tinton Falls, NJ. Surviving Siblings are; 3 Brother's and 2 sisters, 5 sister-in-laws, and 6 brother-in-laws. She also left behind a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. A memorial service will be held on November 25, 2017, at 2:00 P.M. at Mt. Zion A.M.E. Zion Church,
