Jeanice C. Moran Obituary
Jeanice C. Moran

Ocean - Jeanice C. Moran, 79, of Ocean and formerly of Farmingdale, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2018. Known as "Jean" or "Mom" to those who loved her, she was a kind, talented, creative woman with a fierce love of animals and her family. Whether she was caring for her children or beloved grandchildren, taking in strays, or nursing abandoned or sick animals back to health, her loving gift for healing people and animals knew no equal.

Born in Caribou, Maine, Jean was one of 13 children and spent most of her childhood on a farm in Biddeford. She often told stories about growing up there. Though she lived in New Jersey for more than 40 years, she held fast to her New England roots and relished visits back to Maine whenever she was able to go. She served as the church secretary for St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Farmingdale and ran its religious education program for many years. She also worked at The Upper Room Spiritual Center in Neptune.

Jean is survived by the love of her life and husband of more than 52 years, Thomas M. Moran. The two of them traveled extensively and loved to throw parties in their home. Married in Boston, they moved to New Jersey in 1975, first to Howell, and later settled in Farmingdale.

She is also survived by her daughter, Gwen Moran and her husband, Hank Nonnenberg, Jr.; her sons, Shaun Moran and his wife, Alaine, Brian Moran and his wife, Christine, Eric Moran and his wife, Sandra; eight people who brought her immeasurable amounts of joy—her grandchildren: Kirsten, Ryan, Abby, Emily, Jacqueline, Tommy, Colette and Allison: and the last of her siblings, brother, Dennis Cote and his wife, Doreen. All of those she left behind will miss her beyond words.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Friday, February 23, 2018 at 8:00 AM for the procession to her 9:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Catherine of Siena Chapel, 1 North Main Street, Farmingdale. Interment will follow in St. Anne's Cemetery, Wall. For those who desire, please make a donation to the or to Mary's Place by the Sea, 22 Main Avenue, Ocean Grove, NJ 07756.
