AGE: 86 • Toms River

Jerome (Jerry) Aumente passed peacefully on March 28, 2017. He was pre-deceased by his beloved wife Gina Aumente, his parents Charles & Theresa Aumente and his brother Carmine. He leaves behind his daughter, Marie & Carl Latacz; his son, Thomas; his beloved grandchildren, Christa and Adrian Jones, Jonathan & Rebecca Latacz, Carl & Sarah Latacz, Melissa Aumente & Alexandra Aumente; also his precious great-grandchildren AJ, Daniel, Luciana, Zachary, Isabelle, Antonia & Vincent. He also leaves his loving sisters, Mary Gavin, Patricia McDonald & Regina Aumente, who were all very close to him. He will also miss his many nieces, nephews and cousins who were very dear to him.

Jerry was born and raised in Jersey City and graduated from Henry Snyder High School in January of 1948. He held several different jobs, most prominently at Federal Carton Corp. as an estimator/planner, Mobay Chemical in Bayonne & South Carolina as a building supervisor in production and lastly for the U. S. Postal Service in the Bulk Mail center in Secaucus from which he retired. After selling his Cator Avenue home, he and Gina moved to Holiday City South in Toms River.

He was always very active with the church, schools and College Little League in Jersey City. He enjoyed planning family reunions, Snyder High School 40th 50th and 60th reunions as well as a few Navy reunions with his shipmates from the DE447 from his Korean War service. In Holiday City he jumped right into volunteering with the VFW working his way up the ladder of positions to Post Commander for two years, President of the Italian American National Hall of Fame for 7 years and H.C. South Golf Club as Treasurer for 2 years as well as ushering at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church on weekends & holidays.

He loved his family, his home, his friends & his neighbors and most of all his God for giving him such "A Wonderful Life".

Visiting tomorrow, Thursday 3-7pm at Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, 2482 Church Rd., Toms River, NJ. Funeral Mass will be Friday 11:30am at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Toms River. arrive at the funeral home 10:00am. Burial will follow at Brig. Gen. Wm. C.
