Jerome Levy

AGE: 82 • Wayside

Jerome Levy, of Wayside, passed away November 19, 2016 at the age of 82. Mr. Levy is predeceased by his loving wife of almost 50 years, Lucille Levy. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jo-Anne and Jim Mitseas; daughter and son-law, Eileen and Paul Fischoff; daughter, Danielle DelCuore; daughter, Alicia Levy; six grandchildren, Gregory, Melissa, Howie, Shayna, Olivia, and Steven; brother-in-law, Paul Bellis; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David and Cathy Bellis. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Mr. Levy moved to Old Bridge, NJ with his wife and family in 1963, and then finally to Wayside, NJ in 1978.

Mr. Levy worked tirelessly in New York City as an Offset Printer for 35 years. He honorably served our country in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Army Reserve, receiving a Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Achievement Medal, and Army Commendation Medal, retiring, SFC, in 1994. Upon retirement, he enjoyed working as a cook in the Monmouth County Correctional Facility and as a Cashier in Wal-Mart, where he was known to tell jokes to all of his customers. Additionally, he could be found every Election Day working the polls in Ocean Township. Mr. Levy was an avid square dancer and belonged to Middletown Ramblers, Shore Swingers and Do-Si-Dos. Most recently, he spent much of his time at the Seabrook Community, calling BINGO, and sharing meals and shows with his new love, Carole Barnhard.

He will be missed immensely and remembered always by all who loved him. Arrangements will be held at 10:00 am, November 22, at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Ocean Township.
