AGE: 79 • Toms River

John Drozjock, 79, of Toms River, died on October 18, 2017.

John served in the US Army as a chef and later owned and operated the Coach House Restaurant in Old Tappan and Opal's Restaurant in Fair Lawn.

John is survived by his sister, Victoria Drozjock; his nieces and nephews of the Drozjock, Barbary, and Shagawat families; his step-daughters, Angela Ball, Beverly Meila, and JoAnn White; his step-daughter in-law, Mary Meila; his step-grandchildren: Kimberly Barrett, Kelly Barrett, Theresa Shelter, Michael Meila, Alicia Meila, Christine Smith, Janet Kieb, Matthew White, and Joseph White; 13 step-great grandchildren; and 5 step-great great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Opal; his siblings: Helen Barbary, Doris Shagawat, Thomas Drozjock, and Betsy Drozjock; his step-son, George Meila and his step-grandson, Raymond Barrett.

Visiting hours will be held from 4 to 9 pm, Sunday, October 22, at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. A funeral Mass will be held 12:00 pm Monday at St. Barnabas Church, Bayville. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Stafford Township.
