John Lehotay

Jackson - John Lehotay of Jackson, New Jersey, formerly of Freehold Township, died in Florida Thursday, February 22, 2018. He graduated from Red Bank Catholic High School and was a proud alumnus of Seton Hall University, South Orange, New Jersey. John taught at Raritan High School in Hazlet. He then went on to become a Professor of English for forty years at Ocean County College in Toms River. He had an eclectic taste in music, enjoyed playing the piano and sketching in pen and ink. Many enjoyed his great sense of humor. John was a volunteer at the Monmouth County Historical Association Museum in Freehold where he enjoyed sharing his knowledge with visitors. John is survived by his wife Marguerite Peg Lehotay, his two daughters and their spouses Renee and John Natoli and Michelle and Michael Keelan. Also surviving, the joys of his life, his grandchildren: Kristin, Daniel and Adam Natoli and Jack and Layla Keelan. They will miss their Papa. Also surviving are his brothers Julius and Fred and his wife Pat. Additionally, his brothers and sisters-in-law: Wally, Liz, Paulette and Ted, Maureen, Tom and Mary, Mark and Shirley, Annette and Kathy. John had many loving nieces and nephews and was blessed with such good friends.

There will be a funeral mass on Saturday, March 3 at 10:00 am at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold, New Jersey 07728.
