AGE: 65 • North Hanover

Mr. John Moscatiello, of North Hanover, New Jersey died peacefully at home on Monday, May 8 at the age of 65.

John was born to the late John and Adeline ("Lee") Moscatiello on March 28, 1952 in Newark, New Jersey. He grew up as the second of five children in Union, New Jersey and graduated from Union High School, Class of 1970. He graduated from Trenton State College (now the College of New Jersey) with a B.A. and M.Ed. In 1975, he married his high school sweetheart, Janet Lynn Dunphy. Together they had four children, whom they raised in Ewing, New Jersey and later in North Hanover, New Jersey.

John was a businessman and entrepreneur, who worked in a wide variety of enterprises. He worked as a teacher at the Katzenbach School for the Deaf in Ewing, NJ and Reynolds Middle School in Hamilton, NJ. He later worked as a shift supervisor at cogeneration plants in Bayonne, NJ and Linden, NJ. In 1982, John founded the Training Center, which has educated thousands of boiler and refrigeration operators in New Jersey. He was an inspiring mentor who leaves behind a legacy of helping thousands of individuals better their careers and improve their lives. He will be missed by both his family and friends.

John is survived by his children: Daniel of North Hanover, NJ, Patrick (and Christina) of North Hanover, NJ, John (and Anna) of Newtown, PA, and Lisa Fox (and George) of Yardley, PA. He is also survived by his two grandchildren, Gia Lynn and Leena Marie of Yardley, PA. He is also survived by his brother Thomas (and Eileen) of Wall Township, NJ; Michael (and Rosanne) of North Hanover, NJ as well numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Jane and Patrick.

The Moscatiello family is hosting a celebration of John's life on Friday May 12, 4-9pm at the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite at 103 Dunns Mill Rd in Bordentown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Li-Fraumeni Syndrome Association (LFSA) at or Christ Church of Bordentown, NJ at or any other cancer organization.
