Lakewood - Joseph A. Specht, 88, passed away March 22, 2018 at his home in Lakewood, NJ, surrounded by his family. He was born and raised in Cranford.

Friends and relatives are invited to visit Monday, 3/26/18, 2-4 pm, 7-9 pm at the Dooley Funeral Home, 218 North Ave. West in Cranford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, 3/27/18 at 10:30 am at St. Michael's Church, Cranford. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Westfield.

Joseph was a proud veteran of the Marines, having served in the Korean War from 1951-1953. He had worked for 7Up Bottling Company and the Cranford school system. He was a former commander of VFW Post No. 335 in Cranford, a member of the 1st Marine Division Association and Korean War Veterans Association.

He was predeceased by his wife, Patricia Specht in 1988, mother of his six children.

Surviving are his devoted wife, Patricia O'Brien; 2 sons, Joseph A. and Robert T. of Cranford; 4 daughters, Lee Ann Pavlak, Patricia Wagner, Anne Marie Beyer of Garwood, and Judy A. O'Brien of Westfield.
