AGE: 87 • Formerly of West Long Branch

Joseph DeFilippo, "Sebastian Florida", formerly of West Long Branch, passed away Friday, September 15th with his family by his side.

Joe was born in Long Branch and graduated from Long Branch High School. Joe served in the US Navy in the Korean War and sailed on the USS Hobson. He was an employee for JCP&L for 35 years. After his retirement, he became a West Long Branch Borough Electrician and then worked for Monmouth Park for 14 years.

He was a little league coach for West Long Branch from 1974-1979 and won 2 local championships. Joe was honored Fireman of the Year in 1991 for his cooking.

He had a love for the Florida Keys, where he tarpon fished every year. He loved Yankees baseball, Giants football and his heart was with Florida State Football. He was the greatest of all time!

Joe was predeceased by his first wife of 39 years, Rae "Sis" DeFilippo. He is survived by his wife of sixteen years, Marie DeFilippo; his son Scott DeFilippo (Patricia Polack); six step children; 13 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 3 sisters and a brother.

Visitation Wednesday, September 27th 5:00 - 8:00 pm at the Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch, Burial Thursday, September 28th 11:00 am at Glenwood Cemetery, West Long Branch. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the DeFilippo Family, 31 N. Maple Avenue, Apt. 311, Marlton, NJ 08053.
