Dr. Jasaitis maintained a practice in plastic surgery on the Jersey Shore for over 40 years until his retirement in 2005. He was a graduate of Rutgers University and the Yale University School of Medicine. He served his residency in general surgery and fellowship in plastic surgery at Columbia Presbyterian, NYC. After completing his surgical residency, Joseph was drafted into the Vietnam War and proudly served as a surgeon in the U.S. Army on the front lines at the 45th Surgical Hospital M.U.S.T. unit in Vietnam. Joseph loved to travel with his wife and family, and saw much of the world during his adult life. Some of his favorite stops along the way were Tokyo, Coco Point-Barbuda, Deguciu-Lithuania, and Lighthouse Point, FL. He was a mountain of a man who will be missed dearly and forever remembered as a charming, playful, considerate, respected and devoted father, grandfather, husband and surgeon.

Dr. Jasaitis was predeceased by his parents, his cherished wife Joanne C. Jasaitis, R.N., and by his brother and best friend John J. Jasaitis, M.D. He is survived by his son Joseph C.
