AGE: 84 • Jupiter, FL

Joseph "Joe" O'Connor, age 84, passed away on November 9, 2017 in Jupiter, FL. He is survived by his wife Marie Claire Magner O'Connor and brother William Baker (Alice).

Joe was born on August 27, 1933 in Newark, NJ. He grew up in Bloomfield, NJ. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1953-1957. He married the love of his life, Marie Magner, on June 28, 1958. Together they lived in Middletown, NJ where he was a lifelong active member of the Mater Dei Booster Club. He worked for Armour/Dial Corporation until retirement.

He was dedicated to his church, St. Mary RC Church, New Monmouth, NJ. He then moved to Pocono, PA and later to Jupiter, FL where he became a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church.

Joe loved his wife, his family (his many nieces and nephews adored him), his faith, his friends and living life to its fullest. He loved all sports but especially watching his Pittsburgh Steelers play football, his NY Yankees play baseball, and the horses race at the track. He enjoyed traveling, camping, hunting and fishing.

The family would like to acknowledge the many lifelong, amazing friendships that Joe and Marie have had. Their love and support has been a blessing throughout their entire life.

A Memorial Visitation will take place from 8-9 am on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home followed by a Memorial Mass at 9:15 am at St. Mary's Chapel, New Monmouth, NJ. Burial will follow at St. Gabriel's Cemetery in Marlboro, NJ.
