AGE: 91 • Englishtown

Joseph R. Ball Sr., 91 formerly of Englishtown died Friday November 25th in Littleton, Co

Born in Englishtown, Mr. Ball lived there for 82 years, then Ranshaw, PA before moving to Denver in 2013.

He was employed for 50 years as a carpenter through the Carpenter's Union Local #31, Trenton, retiring in 1998.

Mr. Ball was an Marine Corps veteran of World War II, attaining the rank of corporal.

He was a member of American Legion Post 434, Englishtown. He helped to start the Englishtown Little League Baseball Team and enjoyed fishing and boating.

Mr. Ball was predeceased by his wife Mary Grace (Dunphy) Ball in 2005, his two brothers Adam and Stanley and his three sisters Mary Ball, Anna Pinto and Helen Cottrell.

Surviving are his four sons Joseph Jr., James, Jeffrey and Jay, his two daughters Jeanette Schmiedbauer and Janet Bal, his brother John, his sister Sophie Brennen, thirteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Services will begin 9:30 a.m. Saturday December 3rd at the Lester Memorial Home 16 W. Church St., Jamesburg followed by a 10 a.m. funeral liturgy at Holy Trinity RC Church, Helmetta.

Burial will be in the Holy Trinity Cemetery, Monroe Twp.

Visiting hours for family and friends will be Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Saturday 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
