Brick - Joseph J. Ulrich - 12/30/1946 - 03/25/2018

Devoted Husband, loving Father, American Soldier.

Joseph was born in Irvington General Hospital to Christian and Helen Ulrich of Newark, NJ

He was the youngest child of their family of 4. Predeceased by his oldest brother Eugene "Ozzy". He is survived by his sister Maureen and Brother Chris as well as his Wife of 51 years Barbara, his 4 loving children Lori, Joseph Jr., Michael, and Jason. He has 18 incredible Grandchildren.

Joe was a Marine and a Veteran of the Vietnam War in which he served with Honor and Distinction.

Joe was a union plumber and a member of Newark Local 24 for 45 years.

Joseph built his family's home in Lake Riviera in 1974 and his family has lived there ever since.

Joe was an active member in his community by teaching Sunday School, giving to charities, coaching youth soccer and little league teams through Brick Recreation and the Junior Sports League.

Joe enjoyed his retirement by spending time with his family. He had a larger than life persona who would entertain family and friends with his unique sense of humor, incredible knowledge, and sharp wit.

His legacy will live on forever through his family and friends. He will be missed, and his life will forever be celebrated by our families love and deeds.

The family will receive relatives and friends for a viewing on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Weatherhead Young Funeral Home, 885 Mantoloking Rd., Brick, NJ 08723. A funeral service will be on Thursday, 11am at the funeral home. Cremation will be private.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking for those who can, to make a donation to Wounded Warriors, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, or in the name of Joseph Jerome Jude Ulrich. Condolences may be sent by visiting
