Lavallette - Josephine W. Kosenski, 85 of Lavallette, passed away peacefully on July 4th at home with her family by her side. She was born and raised in Belleville, New Jersey. Josephine moved to Clark in 1956 upon marrying Walter G. Kosenski. Josephine and Walter spent their summers in Lavallette, where they co-owned Kay's Bakery and Tradewinds Motor Lodge, before making Lavallette their permanent residence in 1976.

Loved by all who knew her, Josephine's kindness and positivity never yielded. Jo was loving, generous, caring and supportive. She loved spending time with her four children, their spouses, and her nine grandchildren. She was an avid reader who enjoyed a variety of books. She loved to travel to California, Florida, Hawaii, Las Vegas, Australia, New Zealand, and many more destinations, with Aruba being her favorite.

Josephine valued family as the most important part of her life. She was also an active member of St. Pio of Pietrelcina Roman Catholic Church in Lavallette.

Josephine was predeceased by her beloved husband, Walter G. Kosenski in 1986; her brother Daniel Ward and her sister Mary G. Ward. She is survived by her brother James Ward and his wife Pat; her daughter, Kristine Brackett and her husband John; her daughter Karen Kosenski-Arias; her son Walter G. Kosenski II and his wife Tami; her son Edward Kosenski and his wife Karin; grandchildren Justin, Walter, Stephanie, Alex, Kira, Michael, Jillian, Thomas, Erin and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to gather on July 13, 2018 from 9:00 -10:30 am at the Silverton Memorial Funeral Home located at 2482 Church Rd., Toms River, NJ, 08753. A church service will be held at 11:30 am at St. Pio of Pietrelcina, 103 Washington, Lavallette New Jersey, 08735. Directions and condolences can be found by visiting
