Toms River

Judith A. Sackmann, of Toms River, NJ passed away on Sunday November 19, 2017 with her loving husband Ray at her side. Born and raised in Newark, NJ she graduated from Vailsburg High School, then moved to Irvington to start a family and later settled to Toms River in 1972. She was pre-deceased by her parents Vito "William" and Anne DiNapoli. While still in school Judy worked for Star Furniture in Newark, NJ then after graduating from high school she worked as a bus schedule designer at Public Service Coordinated Transport (New Jersey Transit) in Maplewood, NJ until starting her family in 1968. She would later work as a Mortgage Processor for a local company in Toms River and as a hostess at the Olive Garden Restaurant in Toms River. She was later employed as a Senior Clerk Typist for the Ocean County Prosecutors Office for the last 20 years. She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years Raymond J. Sackmann and their two children, a son Lt. Colonel Raymond A. and his wife Eileen, a daughter Tracy and one grandson, William whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by her brother William and his wife Sue DiNapoli, her sister Elaine and her husband Jim Metz and her brother Daniel and his wife Donna DiNapoli. Along with 4 nieces and a nephew. Judy loved spending time with her family and she will be dearly missed. She was an exceptional mother and grandmother who took pride in providing a loving home for her family. She routinely sacrificed her personal comfort and always placed the needs of her family first. Judy will always be remembered for cooking delicious meals for the whole family, especially on Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas, and for the many special gifts she gave to her grandson. She also enjoyed spending time on the beach listening to the ocean. A Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 26th, from 2-6PM, at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ 08753, with a celebration tribute of Judy's life to begin at 5:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 11AM at St. Joseph Church, 685 Hooper Avenue, Toms River, NJ 08753. Interment will be immediately following at St. Joseph Cemetery, Toms River, NJ.
