AGE: 93 •

Julie Marget Henderson, also known as Leslie by her family and friends, passed away after a brief illness at age 93. She was born August 11,1923 in Neptune , New Jersey to Alfred Bedford Henderson and Kathleen Clark Henderson. In early childhood, the family moved to Red Bank, NJ. After high school she served in the Armed Services as a Navy wave and was stationed in San Francisco.

Among her various jobs, Leslie was the owner and operator of one of the first woman run house painting business in the area called the Brush Queens.

She moved to England, where as a member of a writing group she co-authored several books of poetry and short stories. Leslie loved traveling and had the opportunity to visit many countries throughout the world.

She lived in England for 25 years and returned to the states in her late eighties. Leslie continued her writing as well as taking up painting.

Leslie was also employed by Monmouth race track where she continued to work there until the age of 90. She loved the horses and was also a regular visitor to the track until her death.

Leslie was predeceased by her parents and a sister Kathleen Jones. She is survived by a brother, Dr Alfred Roosevelt Henderson, Washington D.C. and many nieces and nephews. Leslie will be missed by her dear friends, Barbara Mason, Dave Richards, Karen Judkis and her niece Sue Henderson.
