Kathryn E. Shouldice

82 - Kathryn E. Shouldice, age 82 of Brick Township passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 20th, 2017 at Ocean Medical Center. Kathryn was born in Wilkes Barre, PA on August 1, 1935 to the late Jacob and Sophia Malta. Along with her husband, the late Frederick A. Shouldice II, they relocated from Wilkes Barre, moving to Brick in 1957 to raise their family. During her 20 plus year career, Kathryn worked for Sears Department stores as a sales associate. She was an active member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Brick and was the children's choir director and member of the adult choir for many years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Cub Scout and Bluebird den mother.

Kathryn is preceded in death by her husband, Frederick A. Shouldice II. She is survived by her children and their spouses: Connie L. Engle (Keith) of Richmond, VT; Cindy L. Brouillette (Dennis) of Miami, FL; Frederick A. Shouldice III (Patricia) of Manchester, NJ; and Cathy L. Berg (Bill) of Brick, NJ. She is also survived by her brother, George Malta; by her grandchildren: Kara Rajchel (Peter); Kristin Martins (Adan); Rebecca Valdivia (Oscar); Nicholas Brouillette (Amanda); Jake Shouldice; William Berg; Daniel Berg and 4 great grandchildren.

Kathryn was loved by many people for her positive outlook on life. She was beautiful inside and out, a ray of sunshine.

The family will receive relatives and friends for Visitation on Friday from 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm at Weatherhead Young Funeral Home, 885 Mantoloking Road Brick, NJ. The funeral service will take place Saturday, 9:00am at St. Thomas Lutheran Church. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Kathryn's memory to www.lls.org and the St. Thomas Lutheran Church Memorial Garden Fund, 135 Salmon St, Brick, NJ 08723.
