Kent Vincent Mina Obituary
Kent Vincent Mina

AGE: 80 • Pawleys Island

Kent Vincent Mina, 80, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his loving family, early Friday February 24, 2017 at his home in Pawleys Island. He was born in Teaneck, New Jersey to the late Vincent and M. Eleanor (Johnsen) Mina.

A graduate of Princeton University and NYU, Kent was a research and development engineer at Bell Laboratories for over 40 years. An avid outdoorsman, Kent loved to travel, ski, golf, canoe, and was a skilled bridge player. He was a role model to his children by coaching many of their team sports such as, soccer and basketball and becoming the motivational team mascot for his daughter's cross country team. Kent's priority was to be there for his family and watch them grow in Colts Neck New Jersey. As an inventive craftsman, he proudly built a Vermont cabin with friends and family.

Left to cherish Kent's memory is his beloved wife of 53 years, Carol (Hanke); his son, Brad Mina and his wife Jill of Oregon; his daughter, Jana M. Schulson and her husband Nick of Massachusetts; his grandchildren, Garrett, Eleanor, Caroline and Griffith, a sister Marilyn and brother Fredrick, as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Kent is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Michael.

Services for Kent will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Burroughs Funeral Home and Cremation Services (843-651-1440) of Murrells Inlet is assisting the family during this difficult time.
