Lenore Barr Konner Miller Obituary
Lenore Barr Konner Miller

AGE: 75 • Long Branch

Lenore Barr Konner Miller of Long Branch, N.J. passed away peacefully on July 2nd 2017 at the age of 75 surrounded by her family.

Lenore is survived by her devoted and loving husband Keith of 55 years, her son and daughter in law, Jeffrey and Arlyn Miller of Edgewater NJ, her daughter and son in law, Pamela and Craig Bonney of Wanamassa, NJ, her grandson and his wife, Craig and Katherine Bonney, Jr. and her great granddaughter Emily Miller Bonney, of Greensboro NC. Lenore is survived by her sister and brother in law, Ellen Sue and Larry Hirshfield of Lake Worth, FL and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister Maxine Rosenbloom, and her parents Doris and Irving Konner.

Born in Bradley Beach, N.J. and a graduate of Asbury Park High School, Lenore's family was locally active. Her father, owner of Konner's Grill on Main Street, was Fire Chief and managed the Bradley Beach Miniature Golf Course, where Lenore had her first job and won the National Putt Putt championship. Later in life it always brought her great joy to walk the boardwalk, visit the miniature golf course and the memorial bench for her parents and sister.

Lenore loved the beach, especially Elberon Bathing Club, where her family was one of the founding members in the early 1930's.

Her outgoing personality and creativity enabled a highly successful sales career in Deal where she was widely known and admired by everyone she worked with and her customers.

For over 20 years, Lenore battled a rare blood disorder that necessitated both liver and kidney transplants. Despite the constant physical challenges, she was always positive, and more concerned with the well-being of her family than her own condition. Though physically diminutive, she was mentally strong, extremely tough and never voiced a complaint.

Lenore's family wishes to celebrate a life well lived, a courageous fighter, and a loving and kind soul who will be terribly missed.

A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00AM on Wednesday July 5th at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapel, 2130 State Route 35, Ocean, NJ 07712. Shiva will follow immediately after the service at the home of her daughter. In lieu flowers donations may be sent to Recanati-Miller Transplant Institute at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City.
