AGE: 77 • New Egypt

Leonard P. Bowcock, age 77, of New Egypt passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on October 14, 2017. Leonard taught advanced biology, chemistry, math and physics at Manchester High School and developed the science and math department at the establishment of the school. Leonard retired as Principal from Cameron County High School, Emporium, PA. Born in Pinewald, he resided in Toms River before moving to New Egypt in 1987. Leonard served in the U.S. Air Force from 1963-1967. Leonard loved spending time with his family and friends. He had a passion for landscaping and bringing to life nature's canvas. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and the companionship of his hunting dogs. Leonard is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Donna, his son, Brian and his wife, Donna Kathleen of Garner, NC, 3 daughters, Cynthia Marsh and her husband, John of New Hartford, NY, Laura Winton and her husband, David of Beachwood, Donna Chachko and her husband, Jonathan of Cream Ridge, his sister, Adrienne Ditton of Onancock, VA., 9 grandchildren, Zack, Jessi, Eric, Craig, Tyler, Harrison, Jon Henry, Morgan and Ella and many nieces and nephews. The family will be receiving relatives and friends 2-4pm Monday October 16, 2017 with a service celebrating his life at 4pm at DeGraff Lakehurst Funeral Home, 119 Union Ave., Lakehurst. Interment will take place at a later date at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers, the family is establishing a science and math scholarship fund in his name to honor his respect for education. Donations can be sent to Leonard P.
