Leonard Theodore Miller, 85 of Fort Pierce, Florida passed away peacefully on January 28, 2017 in the comfort of his home. He was surrounded by his family. Born in Staten Island, NY, to Theodore and Aguste Scholl Miller. Leonard graduated from the Augustinian Academy. He met Marilyn Lawson when she asked him on a blind date to a High school social. He went on to serve in the United States Navy as Chief Gunnery Engineer aboard the USS Battleship New Jersey, during the Korean War. Upon his return he married Marilyn and started a family while living in Brooklyn NY. He earned his college degree from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn. As a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering he began his 35 year career with Otis Elevator, a division of United Technologies. He spent much of his adult life in New Jersey, living in Old Bridge, Ridgewood and Beach Haven, NJ. Leonard and his wife established the Victoria Guest House Bed & Breakfast in Beach Haven in 1983 and the Inn is still open and under family management. He had extensive overseas experience during his employment with assignments in South America, Central America, Caribbean, Europe, and South East Asian operations. His career allowed him to travel the world with his family while living in Singapore. He repatriated and took his family to Avon, CT., before returning to Ridgewood, NJ. He retired as the US North East Zone Director in the early 1990's.

Leonard was a devoted and loving husband. He and Marilyn recently celebrated 61 years of marriage. He was the proud father of, Marilyn Miller, John Miller (Judy), Leonard T. Miller Jr. (Dana), and adored grandfather of Alexander, Jessica, and Cole Miller. The dear brother of Dorothy, he is predeceased by his brother Henry and sister Rosemary.

Leonard, will be sorely missed but never forgotten and will always be in the hearts and thoughts of his family and friends. Among anything else, Leonard most importantly leaves a legacy of LOVE, DEVOTION, KINDNESS, COMPASSION, INTEGRITY, HUMILITY and HUMOR as an example for all.

A Memorial Service celebrating Leonard's life will be held Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the Aruba Center in Ocean Village, Fort Pierce, FL from 1-4pm

In lieu of flowers donations to would be greatly appreciated. Leonard had a great love for all the animals in his life.
