AGE: 83 • Atlantic Highlands

Entered into eternal life on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank, NJ. He was born in Atlantic Highlands, NJ and was a life-long resident here.

Mr. Augustine retired as the Director of IT Dept. in 2003 from IFF, Hazlet, NJ after 47 years of service. He began there as a chemist and advanced to head the Research & Development Dept. and was instrumental in bringing the first computers into the company. He was also a veteran of the Korean War serving in the US Air Force and received his bachelors degree in chemistry from Monmouth College in 1961.

Mr. Augustine was very proud of his Italian heritage and especially enjoyd the food and wine. He loved business and personal travel and had visited over 80 countries. He also enjoyed his vegetable garden and sharing the harvest with others. He was a member of the Atlantic Highlands High School Football Team which won the state championship in 1948.

Mr. Augustine was predeceased by his parents, Lewis V. and Alice Augustine. He is survived by his wife, Teresa Lobuzzetta Augustine, a son, Lew Augustine of Conifer, Colo., 2 daughters, Anne Beckenstein of Jackson, NJ & Maria Augustine of Wilton Manors, Fla., and a sister, Alice Anderson of Atlantic Highlands, NJ. He is also survived by 3 granddaughters, Jule Valastyan, Michele Barnes & Cara Marczewski along with 7 great-grandchildren.

Relatives & friends are invited to call at Posten's Funeral Home, 59 E. Lincoln Ave. at Central & E. Garfield Ave. Atlantic Highlands on today (Thursday) from 5 - 8 PM. All further services are private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the 1 Union St. #301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691.
