AGE: 85 • Lakewood

Lorraine D. Mason-Calore, 85 of Lakewood, NJ passed away peacefully on February 8, 2017. She was born to Albert and Dorothy Mooney of Woodridge, NJ. She graduated from Woodridge High in 1949, where she was co-captain of the cheerleading squad and voted best dancer in her senior year. She married Donald J. Mason in 1950. They relocated their family to Brick, NJ in 1953 where they remained until 1970 then relocated to Florida. She was a lifelong lover of sports, but her true passion was the beach, from the Metedeconk river to the ocean. She will be remembered for her loyalty, generosity, sense of humor and, hearty laughter. Her husband predeceased her in 1974. In 1999 she married Raymond Calore. They resided in Vero Beach, FL, and had a wonderful life together until Ray's recent death. She is survived by her three devoted children; Donald, Jr., and wife Pat of Larkspur, CA, Lorraine of Lakewood, NJ, Michael and his partner Debbie of Toms River, NJ; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Also surviving are her former daughter-in-laws Regina and Pamela, and her cousin John Bauer. She will also be missed by the extended Calore family of Florida. A celebration of her life will be held at the Crow's Nest Restaurant in Hackensack, NJ on Saturday February 18, 2017 at 11:30am for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to and the American Red Cross. Cremation was private and under the direction of Laurelton Memorial Funeral Home, 109 Pier Ave., Brick, NJ 08723. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.laurelton
