Louis A. Horvath Jr.

AGE: 91 • West Long Branch

Louis A. Horvath, Jr. 91 of West Long Branch passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Jersey Shore Rehab Center in Eatontown, NJ. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on February 7, 1926, one of nine children - five sisters and three brothers. In high school, Louis was voted "The Most Ambitious Boy". He attended the University of Pittsburgh and received a degree in electrical engineering in 1948. He served in the Korean War and was assigned to the US Army Electronic Laboratories at Fort Monmouth, NJ. Upon completion of his service, he remained at this facility as a civilian employee at Camp Evans in Wall, NJ until he retired in 1981 after 30 years.

Louis is survived by his loving wife, Florence (Abood) of 51 years; his daughter Jeanne Lenczyk and her husband, Robert of Fair Haven, NJ; two grandsons: Nicholas of Fair Haven, NJ and Mark of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Also surviving are his sisters: Victoria Mainero and Julia Oblich of Pennsylvania and his brothers: Robert of Florida and Fred of Arizona. In addition, he had many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Thursday, February 23, 2017 from 11 am - 1 pm in Buckley Funeral Home, 509 Second Avenue, Asbury Park. A Funeral Service will follow in the Funeral Home. Interment will be in Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls. In lieu of flowers, donations to , 501 St. Jude's Place, Memphis, TN 38105 would be appreciated.
