Mabel Stolte

Whiting - Mabel Stolte died peacefully on April 6, 2018 at the Pines' Hamilton Place in Whiting, NJ. Born in 1926 in Richmond Hill, NYC, she moved to Whiting in 1980 and brought with her much of her garden. Mabel graduated from Southside HS and went on to receive her B.S. degree from Pratt Institute and an M.S. from Penn State.

Mabel liked to garden and help people. She worked with several different organizations in the NY & NJ area, including the NJ Extension Service and the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation in Hempstead, NY. She also served as a consultant with a prosthetic researcher.

Mabel was preceded in death by her mother and father, Ruth and Henry Stolte; a sister, Ethel (Robert) Thoma; and a brother, Henry H. (Marjorie) Stolte. She is survived by a brother, William (Annriette) Stolte; nephews: Paul Thoma and Matthew (Pam) Stolte; nieces: Alesia (Stephen) Frerichs , and Margot (Doug) Burns; and eight grandnephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at 9:30am at the Community Reformed Church, 30 Lacey Rd. Whiting, NJ. Burial will follow at the Greenfield Cemetery in Hempstead, NY. Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 115 Lacey Road, Whiting, NJ is in charge of the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Community Reformed Church where she had been an active member since moving to Whiting.
