Madeline Salemi

Lakewood - Madeline Mary Gennari Salemi was peacefully called home to eternal rest with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, while surrounded by her three loving children on, February 6, 2018.

Madeline, whom was best known as, "Midge," blessed this Earth on March 21, 1936 in Jersey City, NJ. She was a graduate of Emerson High School, Union City, NJ, and also, Katherine Gibbs, of New York City.

Midge was a devoted wife and caregiver to her late husband, Philip J.Salemi, Sr. Together, they owned and operated Mr. Steak of Brick Township, and Salemi Shoes, of both Lacey and Stafford Township.

She was a faithful servant to Calvary Lighthouse Church, Lakewood, for well over thirty years. There, she served as the Vice President of the Women's Ministries, alongside her best friend and President, Joan Buttafuoco.

Amongst her many life successes, her most divine and treasured role was as the matriarch of her beloved family. Best recognized as a tenderly loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her later years were perfectly spent in the company of her family, as well as doting and cherishing her four youngest comrades, her great grandchildren, whom she greatly adored. The affection and love that she shared with her family was above all, her greatest joy in this Earthly life.

Madeline was predeceased by her parents, Guy and Mary Gennari, her husband and the love of her life for fifty years, Philip J. Salemi, Sr., and her precious granddaughter, Danielle J. Gallipoli. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Gallipoli, and her husband, Maurice, of Barnegat. Her son, Philip J. Salemi, Jr. and his partner John Wesson, of Holmdel, and her daughter Gabrielle Salemi, of Belmar. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Anthony Gallipoli, of Barnegat, and Regina Raub and her husband, Chad, of Barnegat, along with their four children, Chad Jr., Christopher, Chase, and Gabriella, whom were so deeply adored and loved by her.

Visitation will take place at the Silverton Memorial Funeral Home on Monday, February 12th, 2018 from the hours of 2-4 P.M., and 7-9 P.M.
