Matawan - Margaret Mary Greene, 76, died peacefully at home in her sleep on January 2nd, 2018. She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Mary O'Malley, and by her brother Chuck. She is survived by her husband, Jonathan and her 5 children, Michael and Teri, Sean and Tina, Chuck and Valery, Brian and Natalie, and Cathleen. She is also survived by brother-in-law and sisters-in-law Roland and Mary Greene and Margaret Greene. She was the beloved G-Ma to her five grandsons Liam, Conor, Dylan, Declan, and Colin. She also has many cousins, nephews, and nieces from the Greene, Kaiser, O'Malley, and Fitzpatrick families. Peggy was born on October 22, 1941 in Beechhurst, Queens and lived in Troy before returning to Whitestone. She graduated from St. Helenas High School in the Bronx before working at US Trust Co. She and Jon were married July 3, 1965 and lived in Hazlet and Matawan for almost 50 years. After she raised her family, she worked as an office manager at the Buttonwood Manor. Peggy enjoyed traveling, and her favorite vacation was with her family for Thanksgiving in Innsbruk, and summers on Fire Island. After retiring she volunteered with the St Vincent De Paul society of St. Benedict Parish until illness curtailed her ability. She grew to become a sports fan, and wore the colors of the Mets and Giants. Every person who has met her has been affected by her contagious personality. Padona Rd., Suite 201, Timonium, MD, 21093 There will be a wake on Sunday, January 7th, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at Waitt Funeral Home and Cremation Service at 501 Highway 79, Morganville, NJ 07751. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, January 8th at 10 am at St. Benedicts R.C. Church in Holmdel followed by interment in St. Gabriel Cemetery.
