South Plainfield - Marie J. Pinto, nee Russoniello, affectionately known as "Russ", 86, of South Plainfield, passed away peacefully at home on February 6, 2018 surrounded by the love of her family.

Born and raised in Newark to the late Sabino "Sam" and Genevieve (nee Danielle) Russoniello, she went on to marry the love of her life, the late Gerald "Choppo" Pinto.

The Pinto's settled in Newark where they raised their children in Marie's childhood home and worked as secretary to the vice principal as Vailsburg High School . The Pinto family were former parishioners of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in East Orange where she was active in the CYO and annual Broadway shows.

Marie lived her life putting her family first. She and Choppo moved their family to South Plainfield later in life to be closer to their son's business, Pinto Brothers Disposal. She devoted her time as the office manager and worked with her whole heart to enable her family's success.

Marie and Choppo found their happy place in their summer home in Seaside Heights where they spent quality time making memories with their family..

Marie was a parishioner of The Church of the Sacred Heart in South Plainfield. She leaves a legacy of family, faith, love, and dedication that will be carried on for generations to come.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gerald L. Pinto in 1984

Surviving are her loving children Matthew Pinto and wife Debby, Andrew Pinto, Genevieve Zipp and husband Joe, her cherished grandchildren, Andrew, Genna, Rachel, Gerianna, Gerry, Joseph, Julia, and Genevieve, as well as her extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 9, 2018 from 3:00 to 9:00PM at the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at The Church of the Sacred Heart, South Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield. Family and friends are welcome to gather at the funeral home beginning at 9:00AM.

Entombment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union.

Memorial contributions may be made in Marie's memory to the St. Jude Shrine, 308 N. Paca Street, Baltimore, MD 21201
