Manchester - Marie (Storemark) Mongstad, age 94, of Manchester, NJ, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2018, at home with her children at her bedside. Born in Norway, she worked in a Oslo hospital during WWII. She and her husband emigrated to the US in 1952 searching for a better life. She ultimately settled in Howell for 45 years prior to moving to Manchester in September 2006. Marie was an outstanding example of a loving and devoted person to her children and grandchildren with a strong faith. Always seeking to better herself, she became a beautician and operated her own salon, Lillemor (her Norwegian nickname), in Point Pleasant Beach before her retirement. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Brick and was active in their Rebecca Circle. Marie was a member of the Sons of Norway Pleasant Point Lodge.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents Mons and Gusta Storemark, her husband Ditlef, her son Viktor, her grandson Richard Osborn Jr., her brothers Magnus, Alfred, Johannes, Kaare, and her sister Gertrude. She is survived by her son Dennis of Manchester, her daughter Vivian Osborn and her husband Richard and two grandsons Robert and Ryan of Brick, her brother Karstein, her sisters Theresa and Reidun and many nieces and nephews all in Norway.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at 10 am at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 714 Herbertsville Road, Brick, NJ. Interment will follow at Atlantic View Cemetery, Manasquan, NJ. There are no viewing hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marie's memory can be made to the Richard Osborn Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund, 9 Princeton Pines Place, Brick, NJ 08724.
