AGE: 77 • Manchester

Marilyn Dering Bensema, 77, of Leisure Village West, Manchester, died Sunday, May 27, 2012. Born in Jersey City, she was raised in Rahway and graduated from Rahway High School. She worked for many years as a Clerical Administrator in Fort Monmouth. She was a resident of Middletown before moving to Leisure Village West. Marilyn was so proud of all of her grandchildren and loved attending all of their academic, musical, sports and special events. She especially loved texting her children and beloved grandchildren and was on the road to learning Facebook! Marilyn was a member of the Italian American, Bocce, RV and Caritan Clubs. She enjoyed playing cards, rummy cube and dominoes.

Marilyn was predeceased by her husbands, Thomas H. Dering, in 1971 and Robert E. Bensema, in 2009. She is survived by her three daughters and sons-in-law, Darcy and John Holly of Middletown, Debra and Tom Dickinson of Lebanon, PA, and Diane and Christian Spalding of Rutland, VT; her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas H. and Darlene Dering of Lavallette; two sisters, Patricia Zanetti of Manchester and Judy, wife of Henry Stroz of Jersey City; and step-daughter, Julie and husband Richard Milazzo. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Tom Dickinson and fiancé Jaime Bohr, Kelly-Ann and husband Ryan Kreisher, Michael Holly and wife Kate, Matthew Holly, Christian Thomas and Walker Spalding, Cameron, Christian John, and Cadyn Dering, as well as numerous loved step-children and step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 31 at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Road, Manchester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, June 1 at St. John's Roman Catholic Church, Lakehurst.
