Fair Haven - Marilyn J. Koren, 86, of Fair Haven passed away peacefully Friday, February 9th at her home with her family by her side. She was a kindergarten teacher for 33 years in the Clifton School System. She loved nothing more than time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Marilyn loved to cook, solve crossword puzzles and read mysteries. She always looked forward to summer vacations at the beach with her family. She will be forever remembered for her kind and generous heart and her amazing ability to make everyone feel special.

She is predeceased by her grandson Daniel Beierle and her sister Elizabeth Karafin. Marilyn is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, John, her loving children and their spouses; Catherine Richards, Nancy and David Beierle and Bill and Brenda Koren.

Also surviving are her cherished grandchildren Christopher and Michael Richards, David and Jessica Beierle, and Alexander and Megan Koren, and her brothers David(Joyce) Collins and Ronald (Judy)Collins, brother in-law Barry Karafin and sister in law Elinor Lindsay and many loving nieces and nephews.

A life celebration will be 4:00 - 8:00 pm Monday, February 12, 2018 at the John E. Day Funeral Home 85 Riverside Ave. Red Bank, NJ. A service will be 10:00 am Tuesday, February 13th at the Tower Hill Presbyterian Ch. 255 Harding Rd. Red Bank, NJ. with entombment following at Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport, NJ.
