AGE: 90 • Ocean Twp

Mary Elizabeth Post, 90, of Ocean Township (Wanamassa) passed away peacefully at home on the morning of April 1st 2017 surrounded by her loving family and compassionate caregivers.

Born in Keysville, Virginia, Mary then moved to Neptune New Jersey where she spent her school years graduating from Neptune High School in 1945.

She was employed by the following companies during and after her school years- JJ Newberry's in Asbury Park, Leiding and Hintze casino boardwalk in Asbury Park, Girl Scouts of Asbury Park as a secretary, General Instrument of Asbury Park, Watsons Labs at the adjutant's office as a clerk typist, and JCP&L as a filing clerk.

She married on October 19th, 1952, moved to Ocean Township, and was a homemaker from then on.

Mary was a member of the First Reformed Church of Long Branch, the Dutch Armettes, the Glendola Grange #168 and also enjoyed helping with the Christmas parties for the 17th Masonic District of Freemasons.

She loved to travel, liked the outdoors, enjoyed the beach and the ocean, bird watching, seeing Broadway shows, and most of all her family.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband John D. Post, Jr., her mother and father, Thomas and Madeline Carlton, and her sister, Peggy Fleming.

Mary is survived by her loving children, Nora Wolcott and her husband Daniel of Ocean and John T. Post and his wife Melanie of Greenwood, South Carolina, 12 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and 5 nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to view from 2-4 pm and 7-9pm on Thursday April 6th 2017 at the Ely Funeral Home, Route 33, Neptune, NJ. Funeral service will be held Friday April 7th 2017 at 10:30 am at the funeral home followed by interment at Monmouth Memorial Park in Tinton Falls.
