AGE: 86 • Spring Lake Heights

Mary Galvin, 86, of Spring Lake Heights, and formerly The Bronx, NY, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2017, at Preferred Care at Wall. Born on May 18, 1930 in Cloonluane, Renvyle, Co. Galway, Ireland, Mary immigrated to the United States in 1950, married and raised a large family. Mary had a cleaning business for many years.

Mary was an active member of St. Catharine's Church in Spring Lake where she was a Eucharistic Minister and volunteer in the RCIA program. Mary was also a member of the Women of Irish Heritage organization.

Mary is predeceased by her husband Timothy and oldest son Michael. Mary is survived by Patrice Galvin, Timothy and Eileen Galvin, Nora and Francis Samluk, Kathy and Paul Carty, Joseph and Anne Galvin, and John Galvin and Joseph Conrey. Mary is also survived by her grandchildren: Matthew, Katie, Raymond, Michael, Joseph, Colin, Shannon, John, Daniel, Ryan, Sarah, T.J, and Quinn.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35, Wall followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, February 17, 2017 at 10:30am at St. Catharine's Church, 215 Essex Ave., Spring Lake. Interment will follow at St. Catharine's Cemetery, Sea Girt.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary's name to St. Catharine's Church, 215 Essex Ave., Spring Lake, NJ 07762. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home on Thursday.
