Mary L. Jackson Obituary
Mary L. Jackson

AGE: 75 • Toms River

Mary Lou Jackson was born in Tillary North Carolina to loving parents Emma and Clisterfield Johnson on January 20, 1941. They moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania when she was just a girl. She married Elder James Ragsdale. Born from this union was Elder Diane and Valerie Ragsdale, her eldest and middle daughters. She then met and married James Hugh Jackson and from this union was born Desha Jackson, Esq., her youngest daughter. Mary was a jolly spirit with lots of love and she was especially a giver, not only of things, but of her time and herself. In December of 2015 she retired from Lakewood Township after 31 years of service, where she was loved and respected by all. Mary faithfully nursed her 97 year old father until her untimely death on December 1, 2016 in Toms River, New Jersey.

Mary enjoyed going out to eat, shopping, buying purses for her daughters and herself and toys for her great grandchildren. She loved going to church and spending time with friends, family and coworkers. Mary was a true Diva! She loved hats and loved to look good. She got much joy from giving lollipops to all her coworkers and the many children who would visit the Lakewood Township office. Mary was a mother, friend and confident to many. She always had a smile on her face which helped many feel that they could make it through whatever problems they faced. She was naturally popular at her job due to her friendly, and giving nature. She was a psychologist, love expert, comedian, cook, master shopper and spiritual motivator to many. Mary cared about people. She will be missed by all.

Mary leaves to cherish her memory her beloved Father Clisterfield Johnson, daughters Elder Diane Richardson, Valerie Ragsdale and Desha Jackson, Esq. and Grandchildren Sihef Richardson and his wife Patricia, Azya Ragsdale and Tia Richardson, Great Grandchildren Keyon Richardson , Aniya Ragsdale, Kennedy Richardson, Ariana Ragsdale and Kayla Richardson and a host of church family, coworkers and friends.

A Visitation will be held Friday December 9th, 10:00 am, Calvary Lighthouse Church, 1133 East County Line Rd., Lakewood. Funeral Service to Follow at 11:30 am. Interment; Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold NJ.
