Mary Patricia Love Obituary
Mary Patricia Love

AGE: 77 • Lakewood

Mary Patricia Love, 77, passed away peacefully at her home on April 22, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. Above all, Mary was a devoted wife, mother, "Nana" and dear friend who will be greatly missed. She retired as an office manager for the Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings, City of New York. In her unending pursuit of entertainment and social engagement, she sharpened her management skills in retirement as one of the founding members of the Claddagh Club for residents of the Fairways and organized trips near and far for her fellow alumni of St. Teresa of Avila, Brooklyn as well as her new family of friends in the Fairways. Mary volunteered her time at Bey Lea Assisted Living, Green Acres Manor and Spring Oak Nursing Home and was an active communicant and Eucharistic Minister at St. Luke's Church in Toms River. She was also a former communicant and Eucharistic Minister at St. Bernard's Church in Brooklyn, New York.

She was predeceased by her parents, Anne and Michael Gallagher; her sisters, Ann Ryan, Margaret Beatty, and Dolores; and her brothers, Michael & Daniel.

Surviving is her husband of 57 years, John "Jay"; her four children: Kathleen Cali (Michael) of Marlboro, NJ, Mary Miller (James) of Malverne, NY, John Love (Kara) of Albany, NY, and Rosemary Resker (John) of Rockaway Park, NY; twelve grandchildren: Michael, Matthew, Christopher, Elizabeth, Timothy, Brian, Katherine, Sarah, Jillian, John, James, and Thomas; and her sisters: Grace Brennan (Larry) and Rose Marie Gallagher.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the D'Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Ave., Lakewood, NJ. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday at 9:15am at St. Luke's Church in Toms River, NJ. Interment will follow at St. Charles' Cemetery, 2015 Wellwood Ave., Farmingdale, NY 11735.

Mary loves flowers, but she cherished her association with St. Teresa of Avila and the fine family of alumni that it produced even more. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Carmelite Monastery, 361 Highland Blvd., Brooklyn, NY 11207.
