AGE: 88 • Belmar

Mary V. Lorusso, 88, of Belmar, passed away peacefully at home on May 3, surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born in Asbury Park and lived there until moving to Belmar 64 years ago. She was parishioner of the Church of Saint Rose in Belmar where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society. She was a former member of the PTA of Saint Rose Grammar School. As young woman, Mary worked as an operator for Bell Telephone Co. in Asbury Park. Mary was a wonderful cook and enjoyed hosting large holiday dinners for her family at her home in Belmar. She was a caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her and loved her.

She was predeceased by her parents Julius and Pregiosa Vaccaro, her brothers Victor and Patsy along with Patsy's wife Jenny and her brothers-in-law Alphonso Squillante and Richard Aurichio. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Charles N. Lorusso Sr., her daughters and their husbands, Maria and Steve Hines and Bridget and Alan Dowling, her sons and and their wives, Nicholas and Suzann Lorusso, Charles and Lori Lorusso, Patsy and JoJo Lorusso and Steven and Tina Lorusso, her grandchildren, Stephen Hines (Stephanie), Adriane Davenport (Doug), Brittany Ferreira (Marco), Casey Hines, C.J. Lorusso, Nicholas Dowling (Susie), Leighann Lorusso, Patsy Lorusso, James Lorusso, Thomas Dowling, Russell Lorusso, Victor Lorusso, Dominick Lorusso and Ryder Lorusso, her great-grandson, Vincent (Vin) Ferreira, her sisters, Gloria Squillante and Elena Aurichio and her sister-in-law Theresa Vaccaro.

Visitation will be on Thursday May 4, from 4 to 6 pm at the Reilly Bonner Funeral Home, 801 D Street, Belmar NJ. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10:30 AM at Saint Rose RC Church, Belmar. Entombment to follow at Saint Anne Mausoleum, Wall Twp. In lieu of flowers donations to Saint Rose RC Church, 603 7th Ave Belmar or EWTN, 5817 Old Leads RD, Irondale AL 35210, would be appreciated.
