Maureen F. Drechsler

Bridgewater - 91, died March 31, 2021. Maureen passed peacefully at Bridgeway Care and Rehab Center in Bridgewater. She was born in Newark, growing up in Belleville. She resided in GreenBrook and Bridgewater before moving to Somerville in 1994. She was employed at City Federal Savings Bank for 21 years, retiring in 1993. Maureen also worked part time at Somerset Valley Bank after her retirement. She was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church in Somerville since 1969. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, watching football and spending time with her grandchildren. Maureen will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

She is predeceased by her husband Charles C. Drechsler who passed away in 1981, son Charles A. Drechsler in 1990, daughter Maureen A. Drechsler in 1976, son-in-law Barry Van Horn in 2015, sister Margaret Weir and brother-in-law John Lindsay.

Surviving are her three daughters Denise Van Horn, Karen Zaliwski and husband Peter, Mary Ellen Kerwin and husband John, a brother John Liddy, two sisters Rita Lindsay and Patricia Weeks(John) six grandchildren Amy and Barry(Mollie) Van Horn, Dylan and Nicole Zaliwski, Deirdre and John Kerwin, and one great grandson Charlie Van Horn.

Prayers will be 8:30am Tuesday at Bruce C. VanArsdale Funeral Home, 111 N. Gaston Ave, Somerville followed by a 9:30am mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Somerville. Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Somerville. Visitation will be 2-5pm Monday at the funeral home.
