AGE: 91 • Leonardo

Michael J. Dunzello (Poppy), 91, passed away on February 7, 2017 in the loving arms of his family.

Born in Kearny, NJ and moving to Middletown in 1959 where he and Dolores, his wife of 57 years, raised

their eight alphabetically named children.

He served in Austria as an Army Staff Sargent during World War II, attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute and graduated from Rutgers University, class of 1952.

He was employed by Statistical Tabulating Corp and Task Force managing NY and NJ offices.

He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and a member of the Vincent T. Lombardi Council of the Knights of Columbus #6552.

Michael and Dolores enjoyed traveling the world, playing bridge with their friends, but most of all

they were happiest spending time with their children's families, which includes 21 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren

on holidays, Sunday dinners, many family gatherings and poolside picnics.

He was predeceased by this wife Dolores and daughters Barbara Bellezza and Hope Hall.

Michael is survived by his two sisters Eleanor Banach and Jean Gurkas; his daughters and husbands Diane and Moe McGowan, Elaine and Dennis Freshnock, Gayle and Charles Grant; his sons and wives Allan and Kathy Dunzello, Curt and Barbara Dunzello, Frank and Diane Dunzello,and sons in law John Bellezza and William Hall; his grandchildren, great grandchildren and

extended family daughters Lisa Ligo and Deirdre Hammaker.

Visitation will be held on Sunday February 12, 2017 from 1-5pm at the John Condon Funeral Home, 804 Highway 36,Leonardo, NJ 07737. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM, Monday February 13, 2017 at Mary Mother of God Church in Middletown.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in his memory to the Inc.
