Brick - Nancy Helen Lenaeus, 98, of Brick, formerly of Verona, who was born in Brooklyn, NY on January 23, 1920, passed away, on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at The Chelsea at Brick.

Nancy was predeceased by her loving husband of forty-eight years, John. She was also predeceased by her brother, Thomas McConkey.

Nancy is survived by her daughter Nancy Baldyga and her husband Ray; son, Dave and his wife Penny; and cousin June Ierubino and her husband Anton and their son Tom. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Michael (and wife Sarah) and Joseph (and wife Ann Marie) and five great-grandchildren.

Her neighbors, Ricky and Margaret Gardner, lovingly looked after her for many years. The family gives them and everyone else who cared for Nancy their greatest gratitude.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Nancy was known for her quick wit and smile, kindness, supportive nature, and good company. Nancy grew up in Bloomfield, NJ and met many of her lifelong friends there. Nancy and John were married in 1942 and a few years after the war, they moved to Verona, NJ to live and raise their children. She loved her home in New Jersey where she hosted many birthday parties, Cub Scouts meetings, Girl Scouts meetings, and parties with her friends.

Nancy lived in her Verona home from 1953 until 2016. Nancy also enjoyed traveling with her daughter to the state of Washington to celebrate her grandchildren's high school and college graduations and their marriages. Nancy had an unwavering faith in God. She was a member of the Verona Presbyterian Church.

In her later years Nancy enjoyed making new friends with fellow residents and the staff at The Chelsea at Brick.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Grace Hospice team for their support in her final days.
