AGE: 84 • Lakewood

Nancy Yeger, 84 beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister passed away on Friday April 7th, 2017

Born in Zbaraz Poland, she survived the holocaust as a hidden child and later immigrated to the Unites States and settled in Bradley Beach, NJ. There she met her future husband, David Yeger, and after starting a family moved to Hightstown and later Lakewood where she resided for over 50 years.

Nancy felt strongly about education, receiving her GED, AA, BA and finally her MSW. This was her proudest achievement. She worked as a social worker for many years at the Freehold area hospital and in her own private practice. Nancy spoke 7 languages fluently, loved to read, needlepoint, knit, sew, and shop. She was a charitable person, life member of the Hadassah and served as local chapter president for many years. She taught Hebrew school, was active in sisterhood and many other causes. Nancy was a wonderful dance partner to David and a traveling companion to over 52 countries. She is pre-deceased by her parents Leon and Miriam Kanczuker. As a loving woman she is survived by David her husband of 65 years, children Steven (Adeenah), Fern Yeger Uresse, Lenn (Jill), brother Michael Kanczuker (Edis), grandchildren Meira (Rob), Ronit (Kevin), Shiri (Mike), Jaime (Simon), Jeremy, Zachary, Alyssa and Sophie, nephew Barry Kanczuker (Samantha), great grandchildren, Brianna, Meredith, Bryce, Flynn and Noah. Great nieces Mia and Ella, along with many loving devoted friends and family. Memorial contributions can be made to Hadassah-Women's Zionist organization of America www.Hadassah.org or United States Holocaust memorial museum www.ushmm.org. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Belkoff Goldstein Funeral Chapel, 313 2nd St., Lakewood at 11:00 AM followed by burial at Freehold Jewish Cemetery
