AGE: 86 • Lanoka Harbor

Nicholas A. Manoy, 86, of Lanoka Harbor, NJ died peacefully on Tuesday, April 25, 2017.

Born in Teaneck, NJ, he lived in Dumont, NJ and Lavallette, NJ before moving to Lanoka Harbor, NJ in 2003.

Nicholas proudly served his country in the US Navy. He was a member of the Dumont Fire Dept. from 1954-1974 acting as Lieutenant in 1956, Captain in 1957 and 1959, 2nd Assistant Chief in 1961, 1st Assistant Chief in 1962 and Chief in 1963.

Nicholas was the owner and operator of BBZ Limousine & Livery Service, Inc. in Bergenfield, NJ from 1970 - 2001.

He was a member of the Trade Winds Chapter of Deborah Hospital Foundation, The American Legion Post No. 348 in Brick, NJ, the Moose Lodge and was an associate member of the Ocean Beach Fire Dept.

Nicholas is predeceased by his parents Joseph and Theresa Manoy and his grandson TJ Manoy.

Surviving is his wife of 46 years Cynthia (nee Martini) Manoy, his children Delores Rapuano and her husband Vincent of High Point, NC, Nicholas Manoy, Jr. and his wife Valerie of New Milford, NJ, Thomas Manoy and his wife Patricia of East Windsor, NJ, Kathleen Smyth and her husband Craig of Lakeville, PA, James Manoy of PA, Patricia Coughlin of Corinna, ME, Saundra Piscitelli and her husband Nicholas of Lanoka Harbor, NJ and Nichole Van Der Wiele and her husband Donald of Bayville, NJ, his 14 grandchildren and his 8 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 2-4 & 7-9pm and Sunday, April 30, 2017 9:00am until the funeral service at 11:00am at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals O'Connell Chapel, 706 Rt. 9, Bayville, NJ. Committal will be private.
