Nicholas C. Korcz

Beachwood - Nicholas C. Korcz, 95, of Beachwood, died on February 23, 2018 with his family at his side. Born in Brooklyn, the 7th son to Nicholas and Mary (Glawdell) Korcz, lived in Beachwood many years. Mr. Korcz proudly served his country in World War II in the 13th Field Artillery Observation Battalion. He served at the English Canal before the invasion force of 1944 at Normandy. His group of men were detached to the 4th Division, 7th Corp and was the recipient of the Invasion Pin Arrow with 5 Battle Stars, Ardennes, Central Europe, Normandy, Rhineland and Northern France. Nick was a member of the American Legion, Post No. 129 of Toms River. he also served as Usher for St. Barnabas Church, Bayville and was a 17-year member of their former Holy Name Society. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Jean in 2011.

Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Nicholas and Barbara Korcz, his granddaughter Lauren Korcz and his sister Sophie Alfieri. May God accept him for what he was. "Be kind and considerate and forgive one another for before you know it, your time has arrived. Keep the Faith and God Bless".

Visiting hours will be Monday, Feb. 26th, from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville. Funeral Tuesday, 10am at the funeral home before celebrating an 11am unreal Mass at St. Barnabas Church, Bayville. Burial will follow to St. Joseph Cemetery, Toms River.
