Nina Doroshenko Iwaszczenko, 62, died Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017, at John Theurer Cancer Center, Hackensack. Born July 21, 1954, in Elizabeth, she was the daughter of Wasyl and Alexandra Doroshenko. She resided in Barnegat since 1990. She was employed by Jackson Township Memorial High School. She had attended Trenton State University, and received her Master's Degree at Georgian Court University, Lakewood. Nina was a passionate educator who spent more than 16 years working as a business teacher at Jackson Memorial High School. She was dedicated to promoting the growth of students and spent most of her free time coaching, mentoring, and guiding Future Business Leaders of America as the school's FBLA advisor. Nina was also a strong supporter of professional growth and was an active member of Alpha Delta Kappa International for over 15 years. In furtherance of her pursuit of personal growth, Nina served other business educators as a board member in various roles for the New Jersey Business and Technology Education Association. Nina is survived by her husband of 38 years, Alex; her sons, Danny of Barnegat; Paul of Browns Mills, her daughter, Larissa of Brown Mills, and her brother, John and wife Kathi of Hillsborough; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, Feb. 10, at St. Andrew Memorial Ukrainian Orthodox Chapel, South Bound Brook. Relatives and friends will gather 5:30 - 8:30 P.M. Thursday at Hagan - Chamberlain Funeral Home, 225 Mountain Ave., Bound Brook, with a Panachyda service at 7:00 P.M. Interment will be at St. Andrew Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery, South Bound Brook.
