Noel David Taylor Obituary
Noel David Taylor

12/15/1934 - 6/30/2017

Born during the Christmas Season, Noel was the youngest of four sons, Warren, Lou, and Michael, and one daughter Mary Lou, to Helen and Warren Taylor of Montclair, New Jersey. He was an early boarder at the Delbarton School having gone there after the tragic loss of both his parents before he was a teenager. He graduated from Saint Benedict's Preparatory School, and after attending Notre Dame University in Indiana, he graduated from Seton Hall University in New Jersey. He also attended Seton Hall Law School.

Noel was an avid traveler, so it was a perfect synergy when he became the President and Owner of Taylored Meetings, which designed and arranged reward and incentive trips for various Wall Street firms. The fortunate participants enjoyed creative and extravagant experiences in many of the Capitals of Europe, Russia, and Asia. He was one of only thirty American travel executives to be invited by the Russian government during Glasnost to experience Russia's many cultural sights such as the Amber Room in St. Catherine's Palace, St. Petersburg, the Armory in Moscow, and the Bolshoi Ballet. He won awards for his work, most notably at the Hapsburg Palace in Austria.

Noel loved all sports both as an observer and as a participant. When living in New York City, the Knicks and Giants were favorites. Skiing was also a favorite activity and many buddies refused to believe him when he named skiing his most favorite sport over golf. Sugarbush, Vermont was where he skied, later buying a popular skiing haunt, the Inferno. It was there that he met his wife of 46 years Rosemary (nee Davanzo of Essex Fells.) His son David Anthony and daughter Sarah Anne Marie would follow. Noel enjoyed playing golf on many New Jersey courses, and was a former member of the Spring Lake and Essex County Golf and Country Clubs.

Noel was a member of a large and celebratory family. The founders of this family, Harold and Rose Higgins, specifically left a legacy so that this large Irish family would meet to celebrate Christmas and each other every year, and also have an annual summer party. As the families grew and grew, the parties became more and more celebratory and fun. Noel loved these gatherings and did all he could to keep this tradition going even when the numbers closed in on a hundred.

After retiring, Noel was at the service of anyone in this beloved family and members of the " Outlaws" as well. He never turned down a request, however mundane or difficult, and diligently looked after all the people he loved - of which there were many. He is survived by his wife Rosemary, son David Anthony, and daughter Sarah Anne Marie. He is survived by his sister Mary Lou Connelley and too many nieces and nephews to mention by name but know that he loved them all. His requested legacy was that all of his loved traditions would survive.

Services include Visitation at Doyle's Funeral Home, 106 Maple Avenue, Morristown on Sunday, July 9th from 2:00pm to 6:00pm.
