She departed this world peacefully on Thursday, May 18, 2017 in Season's Hospice in Newark, Delaware after a brief illness. Preceding her in death were her parents, her stepfather Elmer Broadnax, her brother James, her son-in-law Darren Goodman and her husband William Smith.
