Patricia Dengler

Ship Bottom, NJ - Patricia L. Dengler, "PAT," (8-1948 to 3-4-2018)

Pat succumbed to metastatic breast cancer on Sunday evening, March 4th, 2018 at home, with her best friend, loving partner, and beloved spouse of 39 years, Dr. Sharon Dailey, at her side.

Pat was born in Harrisburg, PA, to Betty (Tobias) and Ralph J. Dengler in August of 1948. She lived in various small towns in central PA and graduated from Cedar Cliff HS. Pat graduated from Mary Washington College, VA, before moving to Philadelphia to attend Temple University. Pat received her master's degree and stayed on at Temple as Director of Career Planning and Placement. She was then recruited by Coopers & Lybrand (PricewaterhouseCoopers) in the Human Resources Department, where she quickly rose through the ranks and was in consideration for partnership before deciding to leave and start her own business. Pat's experiences with her elderly and ill mother led her to a "better idea of care," and she established CareMore In-Home Services. Under her leadership and vision, CareMore was known in southern NJ as a quality, dependable, and principled organization for over 25 years. During her tenure as CEO she was often inspired by her nurses and caregivers and wanted to learn and contribute more to those who were at a vulnerable time in their lives. At the age of 54, Pat returned to school and earned her RN from Burlington County College while managing the business and working part-time at Southern Ocean County Hospital. Pat later sold her business but continued nursing, until cancer forced her retirement.

Pat was predeceased by her parents and a sister, Carol Neideigh. She leaves behind her spouse Dr. Sharon Dailey, brother Ralph Dengler, "special" nieces and nephew Ann Fones, Casey Fletcher, and T. J. Hale, plus several other nephews. Pat also leaves a multitude of valued, supportive, and caring friends that she has made over the years from all her life experiences and volunteer efforts.

Pat was known for her kindness, drive, commitment, generosity, empathy, humanitarianism, integrity, and love of politics, as well as for championing the underdog, doing the right thing, and endlessly cheering for the Eagles. She will be dearly missed by all those she has known and touched over the years.

Cremation was private and under the direction of Bugbee-Riggs Funeral Home, 12th St. & Long Beach Blvd., Ship Bottom, (609) 494-2565. Family and close friends will be invited to a memorial/celebratory service in the near future.
