AGE: 34 • Point Pleasant

Patrick Edward Truax, 34, of Point Pleasant passed away suddenly on Monday, March 20, 2017. Patrick was a wonderful son, loving brother, and a good friend to many. Patrick was a sheet metal worker and welder by trade and was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union, Local #27 in Farmingdale for over 15 years. He was a 2000 graduate of Howell High School. Patrick enjoyed golfing, surfing, fishing, going to the beach, and betting the ponies at Monmouth Park. He was a big New York Yankee and Jets fan.

Born in Red Bank he grew up in the Ramtown section of Howell before moving to Point Pleasant 14 years ago.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Joseph and Sheila Duggan; paternal grandparents, Elmer and Dorothy Truax; and by his uncle, Craig Truax. Surviving are his parents, Edward and Patricia Truax of Howell; brother, Timothy Truax of Morristown; aunts and uncles, Maureen and William Collins, Sheila Duggan and Wolfgang Schneider, Debra Duggan, Joseph and Coleen Duggan, Gary Truax, Kerry Truax and Timothy Truax. He also leaves cousins and many dear friends.

Visiting will be on Saturday from 11am - 3pm at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A prayer service will be offered at 3pm in the funeral home. Final interment will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Middletown at a later date. Donations may be made in his name to the Ronald McDonald House, 131 South Bath Avenue, Long Branch, NJ 07740.
